Information on Road Closures for Wareham Wednesdays and by SGN on Worgret Road
This year there are roadworks along the Worgret Road between the Purbeck School and the Police Station. This means a one-way system will be in place (allowed direction will be INTO Wareham) during that time which coincides with our events each Wednesday between 16:00 and 23:59. Our events, as in each year, close the Causeway from Stoborough up to the junction of South St and St, Johns Hill / Pound Lane.
The two roadblocks can coincide, and dispensation has been offered to local bus companies to use Worgret Road during those specific evenings when Wareham Wednesdays are on. Therefore, the bus stops, in each direction, remain in operation in North Street outside Savers and the Post Office as usual during our events.
Local businesses that take large deliveries have been informed of the double closures and no issues with those deliveries regarding timing and routes have been identified.
Summary maps of the two road closures are shown below.
